Description The day was conducted by Fiorella Merlin, senior trainer and teacher from Istituto Comprensivo Madre Teresa di Calcutta, Milano Italy.
Theatrical Laboratories in OFF BOOK differ from traditional ones widely used only for artistic purposes, replicating the logic of the "theatre of the great", such as 'role playing' (actors impersonating characters, putting aside their own characteristics). This process relies on 'auditions' to identify the 'best' for a specific 'role', replicating the 'judgemental' approach normally used to test school students’ performances.
Fiorella Merlin focused on a Secondary School experience. (School name: Scuola Secondaria di Primo Grado “Meda-Ferrarin” dell’Istituto Comprensivo “Madre Teresa di Calcutta”) located geographically in the southeastern area of the Milan suburbs. This school has decided to start a series of projects aimed at solving the school leaving problems and to encourage integration processes within the school environment.
