title: NEW EDUCATIONAL STRANDS THROUGH THE OFF BOOK PROJECT’S “THEATRICAL LABORATORIES”
Abstract: The article draws on innovative ideas promoted by the European OFF BOOK project (Programme: Erasmus+/2017-1-LT01-KA201-035235) as it has been implemented by the EuroEd Foundation in Iasi. The project is being developed by a partnership from six European countries: Bulgaria, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and Slovakia. The paper focuses on drama techniques promoted by the project, meant to enhance students’ language, social and civic competences with a view to improving students’ communication skills, combating discrimination and exploiting the potential of a multicultural context to the full. The experiment carried out on students (studying medicine and oenology) familiarised them with the project’s objectives, activities and main method, “Theatrical Laboratories,” which aims at changing school systems patterns through theatrical means. The method offers teachers, professors and educators generous ideas enabling them to cope with the existing multicultural environment in their universities and develop students' competences in democratic citizenship.
